NBHA Colonial Region
January 10, 2010
On January 6th we had a meeting in Augusta, Ga. To discuss some important issues going into 2010, it was a very good meeting. Below are listed changes going into this year.
1)
The World Finals this year will be held in Perry, Ga., starting on October 24th thru the 30th. No trucking horses, everything in right on the grounds, plenty of stalls and camper hookups.
2)
$40,000 will be added
3)
The World Show and Youth World will be a 5D format with ½ second splits.
4)
You can now go on the NBHA website and look at membership in your State and District by sorting the list in your area. This will eliminate people saying they joined on the website and don’t have a card. Please check your membership before each show.
5)
You can now have 18 shows in each District.
6)
This year you have to be a member in the Colonial Region to be allowed to compete at the Regional show, many of you had talked to me about this last year. The Colonial Show will be a protected Region.
7)
When the NBHA sanctions a show with another organization that organization cannot charge NBHA members a fee to ride. In the rulebook under show sanctioning, para 6 it clearly spells out that our members cannot be charged. It is up to the District Director if they want to co-approve with another organization but the State Director is responsible to make sure our members are not charged. I suggest that if a show is co-approved with another organization it be run after all NBHA classes have been run.
8)
Each month the NBHA would like to profile a State or District Director, if you have someone that is doing a great job please send in a picture to the NBHA office and how they can get a hold of that person. This is a good way to profile our hard working people.
